Email problems on A1 [resolved]

Postby Tony » Tue Apr 03, 2007 12:12 am

Hi,

Are there problems with email on A1?
We are receiving 451 (Temporary local error) on trying to send, and mail from outside sent to our accounts does not appear to be reaching (according to the mail disk space usage through cpanel, through web mail and also through local email client).

(A support ticket has been filed for this).

Cheers,
Tony

Hi,

According to my business partner this is now resolved. I'm currently unable to check this myself, but will do ASAP and will post again.

Thanks very much!

Unable to send email through A1 at 9:20 AM EDT.
It has been this way for at least 30 minutes.

Email sending/receiving seems to be working again for me, although slowly at the moment.

Thanks 2wdh - though it does seem like these outages have been happening kind of frequently of late, like every week or fortnight.

Can you pin down a cause?

Hi Jfdeckc and Bratislav.

1. E-mail/slowdown issues have been fixed. Reason: SPAMming account. Account has been localized and corresponding actions taken. Don't hesitate to get back with the further requests in case of any problems. We are here to help.

2. Bratislav, we do provide the mentioned features and we're doing our best to fix the issues ASAP. Issue described in the above item has been fixed some time ago. We apologize for the delayed reply here in forum.

Feel free to ask if you have further questions. We are always glad to answer.

Look 7 hours just to respond to a request for a basic service such as POP/SMTP is far away from ASAP and how well you've fixed, well, it doesn't work again - can't send my emails nor can I receive test emails sent from another server.

Bratislav,

1. About the response time. We prefer to spend time first of all to investigate the problem, fix it ASAP and verify. That is our top priority. Of course, if additional information is needed from the user(s) then we request it immediately.

2. About your current e-mail problem. Please submit a detailed information on how exactly you are trying to send/receive e-mails (mail client/webmail, SMTP/POP3 host etc.) to the HelpDesk ticket and we will be glad to look into it for you ASAP.
Also we will try to contact you via IM now in hope to speedup the resolution process.

Thanks for your post.

For the record about Bratislav's issue: problem has been discussed via IM and fixed. Investigating the reasons based on the information provided by Bratislav.

Thank you.

For other users reference problem solved was email reception (POP3 service) - I had misspeled Default Address for one of subdomains hosted on my website instead of
:fail:

i had
:fail

so seems like one unforwarded email stopped all other to be forwarded to mailboxes.
