Quasar server to A1 server accounts transfer

Postby 2WDHost.com » Sat Oct 09, 2004 9:21 am

Dear Quasar server customers!

We would like to inform you that all the accounts from Quasar server were transferred to our newest A1 server ( http://www.2wdh.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=181 ), due to the business reasons, and to:
- Improve our service to you
- Include your account to the _free_ remote backup service ( please check further info on this here: http://www.2wdh.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=203 )
- React to and solve server-side issues faster

We are more flexible with the new server, we can provide you better service, and this move is mutually beneficial for us and for our customers.

The only action we would like to ask you to do, is to change the nameservers for your domain(s) to:
ns1.nsbase.com
ns2.nsbase.com

We've changed the Quasar nameserver IPs to the new server, so even if you will read this e-mail after few days and don't switch the nameservers in time - that should not be a problem.

As with the previous movement:
There are no any actions required from your side, and there should be no downtime for your site(s).
The only thing - you might notice that some data is updating on the "old" server, while your account is on the new server already. That's because DNS propagation to the new server, and unfortunately we have no control over it. So, please just keep in mind that there can be the situation when the "fresh" data is absent on the new server, so we would recommend to notify your site visitors about it, if you have anything like shopping-site, forum, etc. (i.e. - areas, where you or users are adding some data comparatively often).

So there should be no downtime, and no or minimal inconveniences, while uptime should be improved.

Please if you will notice any unusual things at your accounts/sites - let us know about it immediately, and we will take care about it for you.

If you have any questions - don't hesitate to ask us. We will be glad to reply.

That should be the last account movement for you, as we strongly believe in A1 server and in the DataCenter where that server is.

Thank you for understanding, patience and for using our services!
Regards,

So will the data that is updated on the old server be transferred to the new one? I spent several hours this morning updating my site and now I can no longer see it.

Hi.

1. Yes, all the data has been transferred few hours ago.
2. That's quite strange, as DNS should not be propagated yet, and you should be able to see all the uploaded data fine even if you uploaded it few minutes ago to your account on Quasar.

We will try to contact you in IM within few minutes. If unsuccessfull - please let us know here where exactly you should see the new data, when exactly you've uploaded it, and what FTP host (or CPanel URL) you've used for that.

Thank you.

We cannot locate your UIN in ICQ/MSN/Yahoo/AIM, and it looks like you have never tried to contact us there.

So could you please reply us here (or via HelpDesk/E-mail) with the detailed info, so we will be able to look into it for you ASAP?

Looking forward for your reply.

Thank you.

We've fixed that yesterday, and sent you the appropriate e-mail with details.

Could you please confirm that you received our e-mail, and everything works fine for you?

Looking forward for your reply.
